Thirty years of research into African plants
IDELA HERBO is a centre for health promotion through food and plants, founded in Cotonou. Species research, botanical identification and formula development are carried out with academics from the University of Abomey-Calavi.
Picking follows a precise calendar — the hour of the day matters as much as the season. Drying is done on racks, in shade or sun depending on the part of the plant. Dosing and blending, the heart of the craft, remain the founder’s own work.
